The ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ song,
dedicated to 1971 war veterans, was released by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir
Singh during the event of Armed Forces Veterans Day celebrated in New Delhi on
Thursday, news agency ANI reported.

The music video, displaying rare footage
from the war alongside an energetic song in the background, displays the ordeal
East Pakistan went through under Pakistan, and Indian forces who led the battle
to liberate the country.

The latter part of the video shows
names and images of soldiers who lost their lives in the war, in a seemingly fitting
tribute that eventually ends with Indian General Jagjit Singh Arora and
Pakistani General Niazi signing a declaration, and a smiling Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman, largely known as the father to the independent nation of Bangladesh.

According to PTI, alongside the
celebrations in the capital, the ‘Victory Flame’ toured to several stations in
northern India, including Mathura, as the Mathura Garrison bid goodbye to the
flame, which would travel to cantonments such as Bharatpur, Alwar, Hisar,
Jaipur, and Kota before returning to New Delhi.

in the 1971 war and the subsequent creation of the independent nation of
Bangladesh.
