Telangana hydel power plant fire: President Kovind, PM Modi express grief

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice
President M Venkaihah Naidu have condoled the deaths of victims of the Telangana hydel power
plant fire mishap. 

Atleast nine people died in a fire mishap at the Srisailam hydroelectric plant in Kurnool district, on the Telangana-Andhra Pradesh border on Friday. 

The fire broke out on Thursday night, when at least 17 people were present inside the plant. Only eight of them managed to come out, the officials told PTI.

The President tweeted, “Pained by the loss of lives in the tragic fire
accident at Srisailam hydroelectric plant in Telangana. In this hour of grief,
my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I wish speedy recovery for the
injured.”

“Fire at the Srisailam hydroelectric plant is
deeply unfortunate. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those
injured recover at the earliest,” PM Modi tweeted.

“Distressed by the loss
of lives in a fire incident at Srisailam hydroelectric plant in Telangana. My
thoughts are with the bereaved families,” the Vice President’s office
wrote in a tweet.
