Union Minister V Muraleedharan on Thursday cut short his visit to West Bengal after his convoy was allegedly attacked by Trinamool workers in West Midnapore. This comes on the day the Home Ministry sent a four-member team to probe post-poll violence in in the state.

“TMC goons attacked my convoy in West Midnapore, broken windows, attacked personal staff. Cutting short my trip,” the union minister for External and Parliamentary Affairs tweeted with a video.

The purported video shows the car being pelted with stones and stopped from entering a particular area by stick-wielding men. The car then reverses and changes route. A police siren can be heard in the background.
