Amit Shah slams Akhilesh Yadav, says UP will supply terrorism if SP voted to power

Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday slammed the Samajwadi Party, contending that Uttar Pradesh would “supply terrorism all over the country” if the other party came to power in the state.

Ahead of the third phase of the ongoing state assembly elections, that is scheduled to be held on February 20, both Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured that the BJP would provide two free gas cylinders every year if re-elected in the state.

“If by any chance the cycle government (the Samajwadi Party’s symbol) comes to power, Uttar Pradesh will supply terrorism all over the country…under Akhilesh government 2,000 farmers died out of hunger during famine,” Shah said on Saturday during a public event in Banda district’s Tindwari Assembly area.

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath, the senior BJP leader added during another address in Raebareli, “there are no bahubalis anymore in Uttar Pradesh…there’s only Bajarangbali” in the state.

The Union home minister also accused the Opposition parties (the SP, BSP and Congress) of “taking votes in the name of the poor” and said that no Prime Minister apart from Narendra Modi had done good for the poor. 

“Akhilesh Yadav was asking me a few days ago what happened in the law and order situation. Those whose spectacles are yellow, they see yellow. Let me tell you that after coming to BJP government in UP there has been 72% reduction in dacoity, 62% in robbery, 31% in murder, 29% in kidnapping, 50% in rape,” the BJP’s official Twitter handle quoted him as saying.

As many as 59 Uttar Pradesh assembly constituencies will go to polls in the third phase on Sunday.
