What does ‘unworried’ mean in Hindi? Google’s answer has Twitter in splits

The
word ‘unworried’ translates to ‘Beparwah’ in Hindi, meaning someone who is free
of worries and tension but Google Translate does not agree. In yet another classic Google Translate fail, when a user searches for the translation of the word ‘unworried’, it shows ‘avivahit’ which means ‘unmarried’.

Now this goof-up gave Twitterati an opportunity to come up with jokes and memes calling Google wise for knowing that in order to be unworried one has to be unmarried.

The glitch was first pointed out by a marketer Mahesh Murthy, who said Google needs better engineers and linguists. But Twitter users are anyway having a field day.

However, this is not the first time the biggest web search engine got a Hindi translation wrong, in fact it has happened with several other languages including German, French and Italian.
