Telugu playback singer G Anand started his career with the film %u2018Amerika Ammayi%u2019 in 1976. His song %u2018Oka Venuvu Vinipinchenu Anuraaga Geethika%u2019 from the film went on to become a huge hit and is still considered his career%u2019s best.
Some of his other popular songs are %u2018Dikkulu choodaku ramayya%u2019 and %u2018Vittala vittala%u2019 .

Born in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, 67-year-old had also sung and released several devotional albums. He also started a musical group called %u2018Swara Madhuri%u2019 and performed at nearly 600 shows globally. His group has given a platform to many aspiring singers.
According to Hindu, he was discovered by producer %u2018Navata%u2019 Krishnam Raju while performing in an open theatre in early 1976 and Raju roped him for %u2018Ammayi%u2019, directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.
