Punjabi Sardool Sikander, who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19, died at the age of 60 on Wednesday. He was an Indian singer, mainly associated with Punjabi-language folk and pop music. He was known for Punjabi songs like ‘Ek charkha gali de wich dha laya’ and ‘Sanu ishq brandi char gayi.’
Sikander made his debut on radio and television in 1980’s with his album “Roadways di Laari.” He also acted in Punjabi films like ‘Jagga Daku’.

Sikander’s birthplace is Kheri Naudh Singh in Fatehgarh Sahib. He belonged to the Patiala household of music and has 27 albums to his name. His album ‘Husna de Malko’, released in 1991, sold more than 5 million copies.
He is survived by wife and sons Sarang and Alaap. His wife Amar Noorie is also an accomplished actor and singer. His late father, Sagar Mastana was a noted tabla player. The music industry is in shock by the demise of the singer and many of them have expressed their condolences to the family.
