‘Will march to Parliament with 40 lakh tractors if farm laws not repealed’, warns BKU leader Rakesh Tikait

Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Tuesday said that if the central government will not repeal the farm laws, protesting farmers will march to Parliament. While addressing a Mahapanchayat of United Kisan Morcha in Rajasthan’s Sikar on Tuesday, Tikait said, “This time, the call will be for Parliament gherao. We will announce it and then march towards Delhi. This time 40 lakh tractors will be there instead of four lakh tractors.”
Tikait in the mahapanchayat said that protesting farmers would plough the parks near India Gate and grow crops there. He added that the date to gherao Parliament will be decided by the leaders of the United Front.

Farmers in India are protesting against the three farm laws, which were passed in September last year, since November 2020 as many farmers from Punjab and Haryana are staying put at different border points of Delhi.
The protesting farmers have till now held a tractor rally on Republic Day, where violence broke out, ‘chakka jam’ on February 6 and ‘rail roko’ on February 18.

The farmer unions and the Centre have till now held 12 rounds of talks all of which have remained inconclusive. Further talks has been halted by the Centre after violence erupted in the farmers’ tractor rally on January 26.
Tikait on Tuesday reiterated that there was a conspiracy to malign the country’s farmers on January 26, when violence had broken out in the tractor rally.

“The farmers of the country love the Tricolour, but not the leaders of this country,” he said.
The BKU leader said if the Centre won’t repeal the farm laws, the farmers are openly challenging the government, that they will also demolish the godowns of big companies.
