New Zealand’s Devon Conway became the seventh batsman overall and the second Kiwi to score a double century on debut. Conway scored 200 runs in 347 balls to power New Zealand to a 378-run first-innings total on Thursday. He is the first batsman to achieve this feat in England. He contributed 52.91% of New Zealand’s runs in this innings.

Conway top-edged Mark Wood’s short ball for a flat six over fine leg to reach the 200-run mark. The dressing room immediately rose to applaud the debutant’s terrific knock at the home of cricket. Conway was run out in the very next over.

West Indies’ Kyle Mayers was the previous entrant with 210* against Bangladesh in his second innings on debut in February.
