The Zamania assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh (UP) saw False Khatoon of the Indian National Congress (INC) take on Sunita Singh of the BJP, Mohammad Yusuf Farid Khan of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Om Prakash Singh of the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Sunita of the BJP had won the seat in 2017 Assembly elections, defeating runner-up Atul Kumar of the BSP by a margin of 9,264 votes.

In the 2012 Assembly election, SP’s Omprakash had won the seat by defeating the BSP’s Umashanker Kushwaha by a margin of 29,440 votes.

The Zamania assembly constituency falls under the Ghazipur district in UP and is one of the five assembly constituencies under the Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency.

The Zamania assembly constituency voted in the seventh phase of the UP Assembly elections in 2022 on March 7, when 54 assembly seats, spread across 9 districts, went to the polls. UP is voting in seven phases, and the last phase was held on March 7.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with results of elections being held in other states and Union Territories (UTs).
