- It's time to select the decoration theme for the big day
Thanksgiving is just a few days away and this is the perfect time to start planning for the occasion. From the menu to the guest list to the decoration and the table arrangement, here’s what you can do to enjoy the holiday by being “in the moment” and not get stressed out the last minute.
Thanksgiving dinner menu
Smartly plan your meals in advance. List out the grocery items you’ll need for the recipes and start shopping now. Search for the special recipes you want to cook this year and plan out the time duration the dishes will take. If there are recipes that will consume more time, then plan them to make a day before Thanksgiving. You can also buy or prepare the food items that go a long way and freeze it.
Guest list
It’s better to have a guest list ahead of the Thanksgiving dinner so that you are clear about your food quantity and tables. Seeing the current COVID-19 situation, your closed ones, including family and friends, might be the only guests for the dinner. Still, leave some room for some unexpected visitors.
Sitting arrangement
If you are all done with the guest list, then you definitely have an idea about where you’ll seat everyone. List out things you want. Do you want a children’s table? Do you have enough cutlery? Who will sit on which table? Everything should be clear in your mind so that you feel relaxed on the day.
Decoration
Finally, its time to select the theme for Thanksgiving. First, devote your time and energy to clean now and leave the big day for fun and sharing joy with everyone. Now, select what decorating items you need this year. Prepare the centerpieces, candles, fairy lights, entertainment centre and you are good to go.
Happy Thanksgiving in advance!
