Indian
Couture Week’s first digital edition began with a bang – all one could see was
magnificently beautiful designs presented by renowned Designer Gaurav Gupta and
Suneet Varma. That’s not all, Jewellery designer Archana Aggarwal graced the
show with her ‘The Majestic’ collection.

ICW
celebrated love, glamour, and sensuality. Speaking about her collection,
Archana told Opoyi, “The new collection is titled ‘The Majestic’, which is
designed to relive the royal and imperial era, and will be seen on creations by
some of the best fashion designers in the country.”

For two
decades, Archana has been crafting luxury jewellery treasures by blending
refinement with sophistication. Within this unique savoir-faire resides her
secret to fine jewellery making.

She
highlighted that the ongoing pandemic has impacted the jewellery industry to a
certain extend. She says, “The industry will be driven by sustainable jewellery
and ethical jewellery brands. Fortunately, weddings are now happening in good
numbers but will require some time to bounce back completely.”

Talking
about the inspiration behind her collections, Archana says, “I draw inspiration
from all walks of life. Anything creative motivates me, whether it is a
painting or even nature. For example, a recent Safari tour stimulated me to
design the flora and fauna collection, which will be launched soon.”

Archana
gives us an insight into the first-ever virtual FDCI Indian Couture Week. “The
virtual FDCI India Couture Week was a completely enthralling experience.”

“It has
broadened the creative process for every designer and widened the horizon not
only in India but internationally,” Archana says while describing the creative
process that helped her in creating designs for the digital edition of India
Couture Week (ICW) that began on September 18.

She adds,
“Thanks to the technology, we managed all the trials, retakes, photoshoots
through video chat apps and most importantly got the best results in a secured
environment.”

Designer
Amit Aggarwal, Rahul Mishra, Kunal Rawal, Falguni Shane Peacock, Reynu Taandon,
Shantanu & Nikhil, among others will also be showcasing their collections.
The Indian Couture Week will end on September 23.
