A German electrician is on trial for
castrating several men and mutilating their genitals on his kitchen table that
authorities say led to one man’s death. The 66-year-old has denied the charges,
saying he performed the procedures on the men’s request.

He has also denied responsibility for the death
of the man, who died days after he performed the procedures. The body was found
by the police three weeks later.
The electrician, who went on trial on Thursday,
told a court in Munich the others asked him to perform the procedures after he told
them he was a trained professional, the Associated Press reported quoting
German news agency dpa.
The defendant, whose name wasn’t released for
privacy, claimed he offered sexual services on sado-masochistic websites as he
was looking to make some money and clear his debts. He allegedly then expanded his
services to performing operations at his home in the town of Markt Schwaben in
Bavaria after claiming to be a professional.

He told the court he castrated or partially
amputated the genitals of eight men beginning in July 2018 and ending in March
2020, when the last of his operations went wrong. He allegedly cut off the
testicles and severed the penis of his final victim.
Prosecutors said the defendant put the body
of the man who died in a cardboard box, which was found three weeks later after
police conducted a search in his apartment.
He has been charged with murder for failing
to call for help in the case of the man who died, and with serious and dangerous
bodily harm. A verdict in the case is expected to be announced in November.
