Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk has made it clear that he does not mind the negative publicity surrounding the social media company ever since he took over as it is actually driving its “massive growth.”
“The awesome irony of the situation is that the media writing about Twitter/me failing nonstop is driving massive growth in Twitter!” he tweeted on Friday.

A few hours prior to that, Musk sent out a couple of tweets targeted at the media, which according to him, had been reporting negatively about Twitter.
“As Twitter pursues the goal of elevating citizen journalism, media elite will try everything to stop that from happening,” he tweeted, adding, “Mainstream media will still thrive, but increased competition from citizens will cause them to be more accurate, as their oligopoly on information is disrupted.”

Ever since he took control of Twitter’s helm, the Tesla owner has been embroiled in one controversy after the next as he makes drastic changes to the company’s workforce, internal policy, and business strategy.
It all started with Musk sacking half of Twitter’s workforce, ushering out most of the senior executives and ordering the remaining employees to stop working from home.
On Thursday he again raised eyebrows as he suggested the possibility of the social media platform going bankrupt. Musk, in his first address to Twitter employees since acquiring the company for $44 billion, said that bankruptcy was a possibility if it doesn’t start generating more cash.
Musk said employees should brace for 80-hour work weeks. He has been adamant about workers returning to the office, while Twitter previously allowed employees to work from home. He also told staff that the days of free food and other perks are over at Twitter’s offices.
Talking about Twitter’s finances and future, Musk said the company is required to work with urgency to make its $8 subscription product, Twitter Blue, something users will want to pay for, despite a pullback by advertisers who are worried about harmful content.
