SpaceX launch: All about Inspiration4’s civilian crew

SpaceX‘s flagship all-civilian mission returned to Earth on Saturday, splashing down in an ocean near Florida after three days in space.
Who all were aboard SpaceX’s spacecraft, which has been dubbed as ‘Inspiration4’?
JARED ISAACMAN
Jared Isaacman will be taking the charge inside the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule on Wednesday. Isaacman, who is 38 years old, is a billionaire who also launched the Inspiration4 project. According to media reports, all four tickets for Wednesday’s launch were purchased by Isaacman for a hefty amount, which according to Time Magazine can be as high as $200 million. Isaacman has been assigned the position of Mission Commander in the launch.

SIAN PROCTOR
Sian Proctor has been approved by the Civil Air Patrol of Arizona and registered as a licensed pilot. Proctor, who is 51 years old, is a professor of geosciences at the South Mountain Community College in Phoenix and has been designated as the Mission Pilot for Wednesday’s liftoff.
She was chosen through an online business contest conducted by Shift4 Payments as part of the Inspiration4 crew selection.

HAYLEY ARCENEAUX
Hayley Arceneaux is all set to become the first individual ever to travel beyond the earth with a prosthetic body part. The 29-year-old is a childhood survivor of bone cancer.
Arceneaux has been given the position of Chief Medical Officer for Wednesday’s mission due to her experience with healthcare. She is a physician assistant at St. Jude Children’s Research Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
CHRIS SEMBROSKI
Chris Sembroski, who is 42 years old, was associated with the defense forces of the United States before leaving active duty in 2007. He joined the country’s Air Force and took up the position of an electro-mechanical technician.
Sembroski, who will be the Mission Specialist for the Wednesday mission, has also been deployed to Iraq and also assisted in maintaining a fleet of Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.
