Ajinkya Rahane announced by a tweet on Wednesday that he and his wife Radhika Rahane welcomed a baby boy. They both became parents for a second time, having already been blessed with three year old daughter Aarya.

“This morning, Radhika and I welcomed our baby boy into the world. Both Radhika and the baby are doing well and are completely healthy. We’d like to thank you for all your love and blessings,” the cricketer tweeted.

As soon as he announced the good news, wishes poured in on social media. Kolkata Knight Riders, his IPL franchise commented,” Many congratulations! Getting the smallest size jersey ready with Rahane written on the back 🤗💜”. Aakash Chopra, a commentator and former Indian Test opener, also commented,” Congratulations to you both. And love to the little one 😇”.

Robin Utthapa also congratulated him, commenting,” Congratulations Aju. Wish you and Radhika all the best. Love to the lil champ.” Ex-India spinner Pragyan Ojha commented,” Congratulations brother.”

Ajinkya Rahane and Radhika Rahane got married in Septmebr 2014. Their first child, Aarya was born in October 2019.

Rahane recently led West Zone to a record-breaking 19th Duleep Trophy. This time, they defeated South Zone by 294 runs. In three games over five innings, Rahane scored 250 runs, including an 207 not out.

Next, the seasoned batsman will serve as captain of Mumbai’s team for the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Since the Test match against South Africa in January 2022, Rahane has not featured for India in tests, due to his form. Rahane has played in 82 Test matches for India and has amassed 4931 runs at a 38.52 average, including 12 hundreds and 25 half-centuries.
