All charges against NASCAR driver Cody Ware explained
Cody Ware, the 27-year-old NASCAR driver, was arrested on charges of assault by strangulation. The alleged incident where Ware assaulted a female, initially happened on April 3 at a home in Mooresville, North Carolina. Following his arrest on Monday, Ware has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR.

According to police records, Ware was booked into a jail in Iredell County, North Carolina, at 7:38 AM. As of Monday afternoon, he was still in custody, TMZ reported.
Ware did not take part in the NASCAR Cup event at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday. Rick Ware Racing announced earlier that the driver will be seating the race out, as he was dealing with “a personal matter.” The exact charges against Ware are not yet out.

Ware’s racing career spans across various disciplines, including stock car, sports car, and open-wheel racing. He is the son of Rick Ware, the owner of Rick Ware Racing, a NASCAR Cup Series team. He has competed in the Cup Series since 2017, driving the No. 51 Ford Mustang for his father’s team.

His best result in the series was a sixth-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in 2022. Besides NASCAR, Cody Ware has also raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, the Asian Le Mans Series, the GT4 America Series, and the IndyCar Series. He won the Asian Le Mans Series championship in 2019–20 with Rick Ware Racing.
He has led one lap in his Cup career, which came at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March 2023. He is currently ranked 31st in the points standings with 62 points, 164 points behind the leader. He is sponsored by Nurtec, a medication for migraine relief.
