Arsenal and Liverpool will face each other off in a high-voltage Premier League clash on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are currently on top of the Premier League table and riding on incredible form after defeating North London rivals Tottenham 3-1 last week.

Last season’s runners-up Liverpool’s defense has looked shaky since this season started and is yet to settle down as they conceded three goals against Brighton last week but came back to draw the match 3-3.

While Liverpool’s current form will be a boon for Arsenal’s in-form attack, the Merseyside team will have a task at hand stopping one of the best attacking teams in the Premier League right now.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Match preview

Arsenal is expected to start in their 4-2-3-1 lineup with the same team as they did at the Tottenham match. The North London derby was a decisive game for Arsenal as it established them as the best team in North London at the moment.

Liverpool will also start in their usual 4-3-3 lineup, however, the little tweak that coach Jurgen Klopp made during the Brighton match will likely feature against Arsenal as well. Instead of the flat 4-3-3, the new Liverpool formation looks more like a 4-2-3-1 with Thiago and Jordan Henderson above the defense line and Jota above as the attacking midfielder.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Probable lineups

Arsenal: Ramsdale (GK), White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus

Liverpool: Allison (GK), Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Nunez

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Team news

Arsenal have no new updates except for Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny who are out for some time now. As for Liverpool, Arthur Melo will be out for the match and the rest of 2022 after an injury in the Champions League clash against Rangers on Wednesday. Liverpool are currently missing Naby Keita, Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones.

However, coach Jurgen Klopp said that Jones are Robertson are recovering fast and will make a return soon. He added that defender Konate, who missed a lot of action at the start, might return for the clash at the Emirates.
