Assam assembly polls: Tezpur constituency elected AGP candidate in 2016

The Tezpur assembly constituency is currently held by Asom Gana Parishad MLA Brindaban Goswami, who defeated Hiranya Bhuyan of Congress in 2016. The seat, one of Assam’s 126 assembly constituencies, falls under the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency. 

The Tezpur assembly constituency swings between Congress and AGP. In the 2011 Assam assembly election, it picked Rajen Borthakur of Congress.
