American boxer Ryan Garcia will look to retire early from boxing,
probably before the age of 26 years – though it will not translate to retirement
from all forms of combat sports.

As per a report from ESPN, Garcia, who is a prime prospect currently,
said on The Rich Eisen show on Thursday that he would consider a move to MAA
after the completion of his boxing career, further adding that he wants to
prove true his claim of being the best fighter in the world, even outside the
ring.

“If they say, ‘OK you’ve beaten everybody in the ring’
[and] somebody goes ‘this ain’t real fighting — real fighting is legs,
choking, submissions, all that,'” Garcia was quoted as saying that he
would drown the questions poking out by doing the same in the MMA, “to prove a
point that God is the greatest”.

The 22-year-old said that his plans included leaving boxing
at 26, and if time permits, coming back to the sport once more.

Garcia (21-0) is the holder to the WBC interim Lightweight
title which he grabbed from Luke Campbell via a seventh-round Technical Knock Out
(TKO) on January 2, 2021.
