The Premier League race is a tight one. Manchester City (70) are four points behind table leaders Arsenal (74). However. Pep Guardiola’s men have played two games less. Both the teams cannot afford dropping points at the business end of the season.

The Gunners have registered two draws this month – first against Liverpool and then vs West Ham. Manchester City face Arsenal on April 27. The former are favourites as per current form.

With a tight situation in hand, Arsenal are heading towards a loss against Southampton at home and fans are blaming Ramsdale. The goalkeeper passed the ball straight to opponent midfielder Carlos Alcaraz. The Argentine whipped the ball into the net to take the visitors 1-0 within the first minutes of the game.

Manager Mikel Arteta was seen consoling Ramsdale during the break.

“Aaron Ramsdale he made 6 errors leading to an opposition shot in the PL this season, 2 more than any other player. Imagine it was De Gea the noise from fans and the media would be intolerable,” a fan said on Twitter.

“Carlos Alcaraz makes Aaron Ramsdale pay for a lazy pass. 🥶” a second one added.

Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott scored in the 14th minute to take the scoreline to 2-0. Gabriel Martinelli hit one back at the visitors. Croatia’s Duje Ćaleta-Car, however, smashed one more for Southampton.

Talking about Arsenal losing the Premier League title, Gary Neville, on Sky Sports, said: “Arsenal have got to think they can play Friday Night Football against Southampton and go seven points clear – and then they’ve got the game of their lives at the Etihad. If they win that game, they win the title. It’s not doom or gloom for Arsenal tonight.”
