Harry Kane bagged a brace in Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-0 rout of Everton at home on
Monday, boosting the London club’s hopes of securing a Champions League berth.
The two goals were the 29-year-old’s 175th and 176th in
the Premier League, taking him past Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the
all-time top goal-scoring list.
Kane is now
6th in the all-time list, one behind former Chelsea and Manchester
City midfielder Frank Lampard. Alan Shearer is the leading goal scorer in
Premier League history with 260, with Manchester United greats Wayne Rooney (208)
and Andy Cole (187) second and third respectively.

After a
slow start to the season following a failed bid to join champions City in the
summer, Kane has rediscovered his form recently, scoring five goals in his last
four league games. He also has eight goal contributions in the league in 2022, the
most for any Premier League player.
His partner-in-crime
Son Heung-min, with whom he recently broke the all-time Premier League record
for goal contributions by a pair – surpassing Chelsea duo Lampard and Didier Drogba’s
tally of 36, has also been in a rich vein of form.

The South Korean forward scored Spurs’ second goal of the night and has
been involved in 11 goals in his last 12 league games.
Both Son and Kane were
on target in the 5-0 demolition of Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium,
with the loss pushing the Toffees closer to their first relegation since 1951. Everton are 17th in the table, just one point clear of Burnley in 18th, but with a game in hand over Sean Dyche’s side.
A Michael
Keane own-goal in the 14th minute set the tone for the night.
Spanish fullback Sergio Reguilon also found the net, scoring just 46 second
after his introduction in the second half.
