Wantaway English striker Harry Kane has been included in the matchday squad for Tottenham Hotspur‘s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday. The 28-year-old has been named on the bench for the clash at Molineaux Stadium, as the Spurs captain makes the squad for the first time this season.

Here are the starting XIs for both teams:

Kane was left out the squad entirely for the opening weekend’s win against Manchester City at home as well as the loss to Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League.

In his last home appearance for the club, against Aston Villa on May 19, Kane appeared to bid goodbye to the fans as he expected to move on from the London club this summer.

However, a transfer has not materialised yet, with reports suggesting City are not able to match Spurs chairman Daniel Levy’s £150 million valuation of the striker.

Kane has reportedly become frustrated with the developments at Spurs, believing he was promised he will be allowed to leave if the club fails to win a major trophy or qualify for Champions League football in the 2020-21 season. Spurs finished seventh to seal a spot in the inaugural UEFA Conference League.

He also skipped training, a standard display of mutiny by players pushing for a transfer in modern football, although he said he has “never refused to train”.

Kane finished last season as the top scorer with 25 goals and as the top assist provider, creating 13 goals for his teammates. He has long stated his desire to win the Premier League and chase down Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.

The match will also see Spurs manager Nuno Esperito Santo return to Wolves for the first time since leaving the club just three months ago.

The Portuguese tactician won the 2017-18 Championship season with the Midlands club and led them to their first European campaign since the 1980-92 season.

“Harry is in the squad. The team is the same because we did a good job last weekend. The boys are ready,” he said ahead of kick-off against his former club.
