IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer named Most Valuable Player of the season
- At an economy rate of 6.55, Archer took 20 wickets this IPL season
- Archer's bowling strike rate of 16.70 was amongst the best in this season
- The Rajasthan Royals' pacer scored 113 runs in his 10 innings with a strike rate of 179.36
The nearly two-month-long IPL season came to an end on Tuesday as Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians won their fifth title of the premier league, defeating the maiden finalist, Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals by five wickets.
The thrilling season of the Indian Premier League witnessed some outstanding performances by several players of different teams. Although the most valuable player of the season was a player whose team could not qualify for playoffs but had a good performance throughout the season.

The Rajasthan Royals failed to qualify for IPL playoffs, its allrounder Jofra Archer was crowned as the Most Valuable Player of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League.
Archer, whose batting as well as bowling keeping Rajasthan in contention for a long, was rewarded for his exemplary performances in the season.
Archer with his bowling led the team by taking 20 wickets at an economy rate of just 6.55, while the Rajasthan pacer also delivered 175 dot balls in 14 matches he played in the IPL 13th season. Archer’s bowling strike rate of 16.70 was amongst the best in this season.
At the batting front, the Barbadian player contributed to the team by scoring 113 runs from his 10 innings with a strike rate of 179.36. The Most Valuable Player of this season, who was in contention for Purple Cap as long as his team was in the game, averaged 18.83 runs while batting at the eighth number.
