Ivan Perisic is coming to the Premier League as the Croatian professional is set to join Tottenham Hotspur, Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports Italy reported.

Perisic currently plays for Inter Milan, which current Spurs coach Antonio Conte used to manage. The PL club will have a two-year deal in place with the 33-year-old, and the Serie A side has received final communication about the same.

Romano further reported that once the paperwork is all signed, Perisic could undergo his medical next week, in London. The Italian manager wants Perisic on priority, which makes sense given the Croat professional’s experience and the silverware he’s won during his time at Inter and Bayern Munich

Perisic was Conte’s first-choice left wingback during their time in Inter, and the 52-year-old coach could be looking to reignite the spark in the Premier League team as well. Despite Persisic’s advanced years, he’s got some steam in him, and with his history of playing different roles, the wingback is a great addition to the Spurs squad. Conte can not only rely on Perisic to play different positions, but with his ability to put the ball at the back of the net, Perisic is also likely to perform better than the other wingback options Spurs have.

Spurs, who will play the next Champions League for the first time since 2020, are making other changes to the squad as well. Adding some depth to the goalkeeping, the PL side is bringing on Fraser Forster, the Southampton goalkeeper.

He’ll be arriving as a free agent when his contract with the current club expires. The 34-year-old has already undergone his medical, BBC Sport reported. Forster will back-up current Spurs captain, Hugo Lloris. Current second choice Pierluigi Gollini is on loan at Atalanta, and his future remains uncertain since the goalkeeper has expressed a desire to return to Italy.
