UFC fighter Nate Diaz will make his boxing debut against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in what promises to be an explosive 10-round contest at a catchweight of 185 pounds.

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz will square off at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, August 5. The former UFC fighter, who will be the main attraction of the evening, will probably present the so-called “Problem Child” with his biggest test to date.

After a contentious buildup, there is a lot of expectation surrounding the fight. As recently as last Thursday, during what was supposed to be an official face-off to advertise the bout, the security teams representing the two competitors got into a brawl.

Although specific purse amounts haven’t been confirmed, various rumors indicate that Paul might make up to $2 million, while Diaz is expected to receive a guaranteed $500,000—which, coincidentally, is more than he received in his most recent UFC match against Tony Ferguson.

This is roughly in line with what Paul has gained during the course of his most recent fights. He received $2 million for defeating Tyron Woodley in 2021, and more recently, $1.5 million for defeating former UFC champion Anderson Silva. Additionally, it has been suggested that Paul’s total bout earnings, including PPV shares, might reach $10 million.

The two sides have been at odds with one another for about a year. One of Paul’s security personnel allegedly pursued Diaz and his team onstage, according to Diaz’s team. Paul reacted on social media after learning that a member of Diaz’s crew who was on stage punched someone before being struck by a security officer for Paul.

“Nate’s team has emailed my team trying to claim assault after his team swung first,” Paul posted afterward on X. “Apparently the guy who swung first is at the hospital getting stitches. Hilarious these fake gangsters acting like this!”
