US President Joe Biden has called on New York governor Andrew Cuomo to resign over sexual harassment allegations, AFP reported. On Tuesday, Attorney General Letitia James said Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women, including current and former state employees.
“The independent investigation has concluded that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law,” James said at a news conference.

The investigation found that Cuomo “sexually harassed current and former New York state employees by engaging in unwelcome and non-consensual touching and making numerous comments of a suggestive sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women,” she added.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Biden said, “I think he should resign.” The President had said in March that Cuomo should resign if the AG investigation confirmed sexual assault claims.
Cuomo, however, denied the accusations saying, “The facts are much different than what has been portrayed. I want you to know directly from me that I never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances. I am 63 years old. I have lived my entire adult life in public view. That is just not who I am. And that’s not at all who I have ever been.”

The first allegations of sexual harassment against the governor came in December when his former aide Lindsey Boylan took to Twitter to accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment.
Two months later, another aide Charlotte Bennett alleged that he had asked her questions about her sex life.
After Bennett’s allegations, multiple women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment.
As part of the investigation, Cuomo was questioned by investigators from the attorney general’s office for over 11 hours last month. Cuomo has denied sexual harassment allegations and is refusing to resign from his post.
