Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, did a Michael Jordan-like dunk during his team’s Week 13 tie against the Cincinnati Bengals. The two sides locked horns at the Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday.

Mahomes, leading charge in the second-half, tried running into the endzone on fourth and goal. He was stopped by Bengals defenders inches short from a touchdown. However, the Kansas quarterback did a Michael Jordan-like dunk on the player.

The commentators were quick to compare Mahomes’ acrobatics to the NBA GOAT.

“How much does this game mean to Patrick Mahomes? That’s a 500 million dollar QB putting his body on the line in a regular season game. King. #ChiefsKingdom,” a Twitter user said. 

“I love it. “Air Mahomes”. Wow!” a second one added.

“This is getting ridiculous. Now Mahomes is dunking on people. #chiefskingdom,” a third one tweeted. 

“That will be in the highlight reel when they hand Mahomes his MVP trophy this year,” another one tweeted. 

Cincinnati Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Tee Higgins’ heroics, were 14-10 up at half-time. However, Mahomes and co owned the third quarter and made a strong comeback.

After Cincinnati failed to convert from the 4-yard line before halftime, the Chiefs decided to run out the clock. They scored a touchdown on a 8-yard rush by Isaih Pacheco and kicker Harrison Butker got them three more points.

Chiefs earned a 17-14 lead. 

Mahomes then ran for a touchdown after Cincinnati kicker Evan McPherson converted the 36-yard field goal attempt. The third quarter ended 24-20, favouring the Kansas City Chiefs.
