Barcelona striker Sergio Agüero was forced off the field
in his side’s game against Deportiva Alaves on Saturday.

The 33-year-old Argentine made his second start in a row
for the Catalan giants but could only play 40 minutes of the clash. He was
substituted after falling to the pitch with apparent breathing problems.

Aguero pointed to his chest while receiving the medical
aid on the ground. A stretcher was on hand to take the Argentine centre-forward
away, however, the former Manchester City player eventually made it back to his
feet.

He walked down the tunnel, with Philippe Coutinho coming
on in his place.

The Argentine was taken from Camp Nou in an ambulance, as
is standard procedure in such situations.

“Aguero was taken away,” interim manager Sergio
Barjuan said to Movistar following the game when asked about the player’s
health.

“I have asked him. He told me he was a little dizzy.
I have found out now that they have taken him to the hospital to see what he
really has. I do not know anymore.”

Aguero was diagnosed with coronavirus earlier this year, and he missed
seven games for the Citizens as a result.

Due to a calf injury, the five-time Premier League winner
has already missed nine matches for the Blaugrana this season.

Meanwhile, the Catalan club was held to a 1-1 draw by the
relegation battling Deportivo Alaves. It was their first match since the sacking
of their former manager Ronald Koeman.

In the 49th minute, Memphis Depay gave Barcelona the lead with a shot
from outside the box, only for Luis Rioja to dribble through the heart of the
hosts’ woefully weak defence and equalise three minutes later.

Barca president Joan Laporta decided to part ways with
Ronald Koeman after the Dutchman won only one of his past four league matches.
Following the defeat against Rayo Vallecano, Koeman was relieved of his duties,
and Barjuan was appointed as interim manager while a new manager is sought.
