Lionel Messi is set to play his final World Cup match Sunday. Argentina take on France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final at the Lusail Stadium. 

Ahead of the game, thousands of Messi fans packed the stadium, cheering for the Argentine. He will become the most capped player in World Cup history with 26 appearances.

The closing ceremony for the World Cup featured artists from around the world performing on the official soundtrack of the tournament in Qatar. The performers at Lusail Stadium included Nigerian singer Davido and Qatar-based songwriter Aisha, Congolese artist Gims and Puerto Rican singer Ozuna.

French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived at Lusail stadium for the World Cup final.

Lionel Messi will lead an Argentina squad containing Angel Di Maria, who starts for the first time since sustaining a foot injury against Poland in the final round of group games. Fans from all over the world started wishing good luck to
Messi ahead go the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Di Maria replaces Leandro Paredes in midfield as Argentina again rolls out a 4-4-2 formation, with Messi one of the two forwards. Nicolas Tagliafco is preferred to Marco Acuna at left-back.
