MS Dhoni on Thursday stepped down as

Dhoni’s last moment as CSK captain came in
2021 when he lifted the IPL trophy at the Dubai International Stadium as CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the
final. It was CSK’s fourth IPL title and all of them came under the captaincy
of Dhoni.

After CSK defeated KKR by 27 runs, BCCI
president Sourav Ganguly handed over the trophy to MS Dhoni while BCCI
secretary Jay Shah and Dhoni held the trophy and shared a photo frame.

In IPL 2021, Dhoni also completed another
century as he became the first player in the history of the tournament to take 100 catches for a franchise after Dhoni grabbed three more catches
against SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2021 match on September 30.

Dhoni also holds the record of playing the
most number of matches in IPL at 220. He is trailed by Dinesh Karthik and Rohit
Sharma. Both of them played 213 matches each.

As a captain, Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings
in 204 matches dating back to 2008. He has won 121 matches, lost 82 and one
match was ended without a result. His winning percentage is 59.60.

As 40-year-old Dhoni relinquished captain,
it is likely that he may announce his retirement from IPL after this season. In
August 2020, he had bid farewell to international cricket.

During his long captaincy stint with CSK,
Dhoni won four IPL titles (in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021) which made him the
second most successful captain in the T20 league behind MI’s Rohit Sharma, who
won five titles.

CSK and MI also hold the record for most
appearances in the playoffs (eleven) and the Final (nine) of the IPL.

Now as Dhoni stepped down, Jadeja, who has been
