NASCAR slammed for suspending Noah Gragson for liking George Floyd meme
NASCAR is being slammed on social media for being “woke” after they suspended driver Noah Gragson for liking a George Floyd meme. The controversy created a lot of hype and made it to the headlines after the incident surfaced on social media.
After it was discovered that NASCAR driver Noah Gragson had “liked” a meme about George Floyd that was deemed offensive since it made reference to the 2020 murder, the racing organization promptly suspended him for an indeterminate period of time.
Legacy Motor Club said in a statement on Saturday that Gragson’s conduct did not reflect the team’s beliefs. Josh Berry took over and steered the No. 42 car in the Cup Series contest at Michigan International Speedway as a result of the suspension. On Sunday, however, the race was called off owing to rain.
The organization also released a statement, “NASCAR fully supports Legacy Motor Club’s decision to suspend Noah Gragson. Following his actions on social media, NASCAR has determined that Gragson has violated the Member Conduct section of the 2023 NASCAR Rule Book and has placed him under indefinite suspension.”
