New Zealand left-arm quick bowler Trent Boult has leapfrogged India’s Jasprit Bumrah at the top of ICC Men’s ODI Bowling rankings. Bumrah, 28, who reclaimed his spot at the top of the rankings against England earlier in July, has gone down to the second place with 703 points, only one behind Boult.

Bumrah claimed six wickets against England in the first ODI, and reclaimed the top spot. However, he suffered an injury in the second match, resulting in him not playing in the series-decider in Manchester on July 17.

Boult and Bumrah are the only bowlers in the list who have accumulated more than 700 points. Shaheen Afridi (Pakistan), Josh Hazlewood (New Zealand) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan) are the third, fourth and fifth ranked bowlers in ICC’s Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings.

According to the new rankings, Bumrah is the only Indian to be inside the top 10 of the ODI rankings. Yuzvendra Chahal (16th), Bhuvneswar Kumar (24) and Mohamad Shami (25) are the other Indian bowlers who have featured in the list.

Bumrah has been given a rest for the tour of West Indies, so it is unclear when the Indian ace will be able to surpass Boult in the ODI rankings.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya, whose heroics helped India to register a victory over England in Manchester last week, have made gains in the latest rankings. Pant, who scored his maiden ODI ton, has come up 25 places in the ICC rankings to the 52nd spot. Meanwhile, Pandya has advanced to the 42nd spot following his 71 run innings.

Pandya, who also shined with the ball against England in the third ODI, registered his best-ever figure of 4/24. It helped the 28-year-old to advance to the 70th spot among bowlers.

Among batters, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Imam-uL-Haq have held on to the top two spots. However, South African Rassie van der Dussen has come up to the third position, forcing Virat Kohli to a one spot drop (fourth), Rohit Sharma (fifth) and Quinton de Kock to a two-spot drop (sixth).
