- The Chiefs have remained in Kansas City to practice this week
The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and center Daniel Kilgore on the COVID-19 reserve list six days before the Super Bowl, the team confirmed on Monday.
Robinson and Kilgore had to be placed on the list due to coming into contact with someone who had tested positive for the disease.
If both players record five straight days of negative COVID-19 tests, they will be eligible for Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Robinson was the Chiefs third most productive receiver during the regular season with 45 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he was optimistic the two players may yet “work through” the isolation and be available for Sunday’s NFL showpiece.
“It’ll all work out for them,” Reid said during a media availability, praising NFL safety protocols which have been in place throughout the season.

“The NFL has done a great job with it, presenting different safety things for the players to stay as safe as possible. The problem is you’re fighting the invisible man. It’s germs, and they’re hard to see. It just gets you when least expected, and we’re seeing that in everything. It’s an unfortunate thing,” he added.
This year’s Super Bowl is taking place in the midst of a raging COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
The Chiefs have remained in Kansas City to practice this week and will travel to Tampa for Sunday’s game on Saturday.
