Rafael Nadal to Naomi Osaka: Players who have withdrawn from Wimbledon 2021
- Naomi Osaka pulled out of Wimbledon to spend time with her family and friends
- Rafael Nadal will not participate in Wimbledon and the Olympics
- Dominic Thiem also pulled out with a wrist injury
The oldest Grand Slam- Wimbledon – is set to kick off on June 28. While the likes of French Open 2021 champion Novak Djokovic and eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer will be seen in action in the grass-court tournament, many top stars have pulled out.
Naomi Osaka, WTA No 2, pulled out of the Wimbledon after organizers of the four Slam events said they might have to ban her if she continued to violate media availability rules. She is reportedly taking personal time with friends and family.

Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, said that he needs to listen to his body and take rest.
On June 24, World No 5 Dominic Thiem joined the list of players pulling out. The Austrian player suffered a wrist injury in Mallorca and been forced to retire. After consulting with doctors, the 27-year-old revealed that he will skip the coming three tournaments including Wimbledon to recover.
