The ICC Men’s T20I World Cup has started and there have been quite a few electrifying matches already.

India notched a tally on the scoreboard with a nail-biting win against Pakistan, it’s brutal clean-up of the Netherlands. On the other hand, Ireland’s shocking upset of England and Pakistan’s shocking loss at the hands of Zimbabwe have made this year’s edition a must-watch.

With each team having played two matches each in both Groups A & B, they all have three matches to go. In Group A, New Zealand leads the pack after shutting down Australia in their very first game. The loss has sent the team careening to the 5th place in Group A, just above Afghanistan

Meanwhile, in Group B, India has secured a position for itself to move forward, while mercurial Pakistan, despite having lost its first two matches may yet turn things around.

Here are the teams that are likely to make it out of the Super 12.

India

The surefire team to make it through after beating two teams, India has South Africa, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh left to play. Zimbabwe and South Africa are likely to provide reasonable resistance but given Virat Kohli’s current form, the two teams might be hard pressed to mount a substantial challenge for the the Men In Blue.

Pakistan/ South Africa

Pakistan, while a strong side has been inconsistent with its performance in the last few months, even the inclusion of pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has done little for the beleaguered side. South Africa on the other hand, is looking like a strong side after a demolishing Bangladesh by 104 runs.

New Zealand

Over in Group B, the Kiwis managed a surprising upset of current title holders Australia but then weren’t able to play out their match against Afghanistan thanks to the rain.

Australia/ England

Last year’s T20 World Cup winners and England both came into the tournament looking like strong sides. However, the English faced a stunning defeat at the hands of the Irish, surprising everybody.
