Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Tom Brady sets NFL pass completions record

Tom Brady on Sunday overtook Drew Brees for the most pass completions in NFL history. The seven-time Super Bowl champion threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 33-27 win against the Buffalo Bills.
Coming into the game, Brady needed 18 pass completions to surpass Brees’ record of 7,142. He connected with Mike Evans for 20 yards late in the second quarter for his 7,143 pass completion and eventually finished the game at 7,156.

Tom Brady earlier this season overtook Brees’ NFL record for career passing yards – 80,358. The 44-year-old also already holds the record of 695 touchdown passes. During the game, he also matched his personal season record of 21 touchdowns.
The Bucs however will have to wait for their NFC South title crowning. They needed the New Orleans Saints to lose to the New York Jets on Sunday and Atlanta Falcons defeating the Carolina Panthers, but the Saints won.

Brady holds the record for the most regular-season (240) and postseason (34) victories among NFL quarterbacks. His combined regular-season and postseason winning percentage of .767 is the highest of any quarterback who has started at least 100 NFL games.
In his record 10 Super Bowl appearances, he has racked up the most pass attempts (421), completions (277), passing yards (3,039) and touchdown passes (21).

Josh Allen has almost single-handedly carried Buffalo to overtime against Tampa Bay. The Bills trailed by 21 points at the half but evened the score at 27 on a field goal by Tyler Bass in the final seconds. Allen has thrown for 305 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He’s also run for 109 yards and a score.
