The Tennessee Titans travelled to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season. While they began the game underwhelmingly, going down 3-0 in the first quarter against the hosts, the Titans soon made a comeback, leading 14-9 before going into the half. 

The change in pace for the Titans was courtesy of two rushing touchdowns by running back Derrick Henry, who helped his team to take the lead in the second quarter. He was also one of the standout performers on the field in the game, having made a whooping 9 carries in the first half.

At the time of writing this article, the 28-year-old has registered 10 carries for 93 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has also recorded 166 carries for 755 yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 14 receptions for 140 yards and 1 fumble so far this season.

Both of his touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs came in the second quarter. The first touchdown came 10 minutes after the second quarter began when Derrick Henry ran for 56 yards, his longest in the ongoing season.

In the second touchdown, Henry rushed for one yard to score the 74th rushing touchdown of his career. It also helped the Titans to take a 14-9 lead and helped the running back break the franchise record for most rushing touchdowns as he surpassed Earl Campbell (73).

It was also the third touchdown of the game after Mecole Hardman of the Kansas City Chiefs opened the scoring in the second half.

The Tennessee Titans are currently at the top of the AFC South standings, ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have registered five wins and two losses so far this season and are currently on a two-game winning streak.
