Tokyo Olympics: American athletes in action on day 8
- Team USA has won 38 medals, including 14 silver and 14 gold medals
- American Golfer Collin Morikawa will be in the fray in men's individual round 2
- Team USA will be competing in both men's and women's eight finals in rowing
Still languishing at the third place on the medal
tally after a week of Olympic Games, Team USA will want to finally break to the
top in the Tokyo Olympics as a new week starts on Saturday.
Until now, the USA has won 14 gold medals while
also scalping an equal amount of silver medals and 10 bronze medals. China is
sitting at the top with 15 golds.
Day 8 will start for the USA with Alexis Lagan
participating in the women’s 25m pistol event.
Collin Morikawa will be in the fray in Golf men’s
individual round 2.

Abbey Weitzeil will be looking to clinch a gold
in women’s 100m freestyle swimming final while Michael Andrew will be in the
fray in men’s 200m individual medley final.
In rowing, team USA will be competing in both
men’s and women’s eight finals.
In athletics, JuVaughn Harrison will take to the
field in group B of men’s high jump while Athing Mu will be on the track for
800m heat.
Connor Fields will be in contention in the men’s
BMX racing semi-finals.
In the Baseball men’s tournament opening round, the
United States will take on Israel and in the women’s tournament, the United
States will take on hosts Japan.

In the beach volleyball women’s tournament, USA
will take on the Netherlands while in the men’s tournament USA will be up
against team Qatar.
In the indoor volleyball men’s tournament, the US
will be up against Brazil.
In water polo, the US will take on the Russian
Olympic committee team.
Other sports that will see Americans in contention
include Judo, soccer, rugby, sailing, tennis, and much more.
