Todd Bowles, the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has denied giving any special treatment to Buccaneers’ quarterback, the legendary Tom Brady. Bowles’ comments come after Brady missed the Friday walk through in order to attend the wedding of Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, with whom Brady has won six Super Bowls.

Brady had also come under the spotlight when he was given a break during the pre-season for dealing with personal issues. It was later revealed that the 45-year-old and his wife Gisele Bündchen are about to get divorced.

The Buccaneers’ quarterback has also been given the option of taking weekly off days during the season. When talking about Brady, Bowles said, “He works as hard as anybody”, further adding, “Special treatment – there have been a few guys that have missed meetings and some practices for some special thing – that just doesn’t get publicized because they’re not him. It just kind of comes with the territory. You don’t worry about it too much.”

The Bucs have not been performing well this season despite being predicted as a Super Bowl contender. They have won three and lost as many matches in the NFC South league. Brady himself is in the 15th place among all 32 qualified quarterbacks of the season. His QBR rating is currently 52.1.

Brady also appeared frustrated during the Bucs’ win over the New Orleans Saints earlier this season. He reportedly broke two tablets on the sides. Brady later came to his radio show with Jim Gray, where he told the latter, “Unfortunately, the tablet just happens to get in the way, and obviously that’s the reason things weren’t going great, so I had to take it out on the poor meaningless tablet.”

He was also heard cursing at his linemen during the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
