Although the Royals are last in the American League in home runs with 124, they hit a barrage of them in the game — five to be absolutely specific. Emmanuel Rivera hit his first career homer, while Andrew Benintendi and Cam Gallagher also connected.
When Perez took the base in the sixth inning, the scores were tied a 2-2. But with his second homer of the night off Zach Davies (6-10), the 31-year-old Venezuelan-American put the Royals ahead.

“I’m just trying to build upon every start,” Keller said. “I felt pretty good toward my last start and tried to bring it into this start.”
Chicago’s Patrick Wisdom who has been having an incredible debut season, homered in the third homer and currently leads NL rookies with 19 homers.
Davies allowed four home runs. The right-hander threw six innings, allowing five hits and striking out five.
Chicago has lost 11 straight home games. The Cubs have dropped 43 of their last 58 games after leading the NL Central in June.
