There is no one like Virat Kohli in the current Indian cricket team who can engage the spectators with the proceedings of the match. In his
100th Test, an exuberant Kohli got the Mohali crowd to cheer for the Indian
team as Rohit Sharma-led Indian side registered a 222 runs comprehensive
victory against Sri Lanka in the first Test at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in
Mohali on Sunday.

In the 30th over of Sri Lanka’s second innings, Kohli
was spotted asking the crowd from slip as Jasprit Bumrah took
the strides to bowl a delivery.

Playing in the Mohali Test, Kohli became the 12th
Indian and 71st international cricketer to play 100 or more Tests.

On day 1 of the match, Kohli was felicitated with an
honorary cap by head coach Rahul Dravid in the presence of his teammates and
wife Anushka Sharma.

“I want to thank the BCCI and getting my 100th
Test cap from one of my childhood heroes is indeed amazing,” Kohli said as
Dravid presented him with a special cap.

“It is a special moment for me. My wife is here
and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it
couldn’t have been possible without you. With the amount we play with three
formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is
that I played 100 games in the purest format,” says Kohli.

In India’s only innings of the match, Kohli scored 45
off 76 before being dismissed by left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. India
eventually finished with 574 for eight before Rohit Sharma declared the
innings. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the match with his record-breaking
and unbeaten knock of 175.

Jadeja later picked a five-wicket haul as well, with
his 5 for 41, 10th in his career and first in five years as Sri Lanka were
bundled for 174. India enforced a follow-on in Mohali. Jadeja became only the
first cricketer in 50 years to score 150 + plus and take a fifer in an innings of a Test match.
