Jamaal Jarrett, Georgia Bulldogs’ defensive tackle, was trolled on social media for making a racist comment during the 2023 NFL Draft over the weekend.

A video of Jarrett making a racist remark towards an Asian man who delivered the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round pick announcement went viral on social media.

“A Georgia Bulldogs football player made anti Asian comments on his Instagram Live when he saw an Asian man announcing a pick in the NFL Draft. His name is Jamaal Jarrett. This is unacceptable and disgusting,” a Twitter user said.

“JAH JARRETT THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! no wonder carolina didn’t take this kid. racist and has character issues. yikes. bad look and classless @JamaalJarrett,” another one criticised him.

“Practically no coverage of UGA football player Jamaal Jarrett spouting an anti-Asian racial epithet. The school and football program needs to hold him accountable for his actions. The fact that he did this after the racist Atlanta spa shootings just two years ago is unacceptable,” a third one tweeted.

Watch the video:

“Jalen Carter, come on Asian. Ching chong,” the speaker, apparently Jarrett, was heard saying.

The incoming freshman is a four-star recruit. He will play for the Georgia Bulldogs next year as their defensive tackle. Jarrett was live on Instagram while watching the draft in Kansas City.

He made the comment when AtlantaFalcons’ No. 8 pick was called in.

The Falcons picked University of Texas running back Bijan Robinson at No. 8. Philadelphia Eagles chose Jalen Carter at No. 9.

Jarrett has locked his social media accounts – Twitter and Instagram – after his video went viral. The DT is a Grimsley High School product from Greensboro, North Carolina. He was selected to the All-American Bowl in his senior year.

Jamaal Jarrett was ranked the No. 172 prospect in the Class of 2023 and is the 23rd-ranked defensive lineman. In his senior year, the to-be Bulldogs player had 63 total tackles.
