Who is Jordan Poole?

Jordan Poole is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Golden State Warriors. He joined the team in 2019 after being drafted 28th in the first round of the NBA draft.

Born on June 19 1999 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Poole attended Rufus King High School in the same city he grew up in. He made his first ever basketball appearance in a game for the school, making a game-tying three-pointer in the closing seconds of the game, just moments after coming off the bench.

His skill was quickly recognised and he received several competing offers from Illinois, Nebraska, Marquette, Virginia Tech and more. However, by 2016, he shifted to La Lumiere School in Indiana. Before leaving high school, Poole signed his letter of intent to play college basketball with Michigan

Poole played for the Michigan wolverines through his freshman and sophomore year. In fact, it was during his freshman year that the term ‘Poole Party’ was coined by his friends. The term became especially popular when he made a buzzer beating three-pointer during the final seconds of the game against Houston in the second round of the 2018 NCAA tournament.

During his sophomore year, he was an integral part of the 2018-2019 Wolverines team that tied with the schools 17-0 win streak. In the following season, he announced his intention to declare for the 2019 draft.
