Actor Bruce MacVittie is no more.
MacVittie’s wife Carol Ochs revealed in a memorial published by The New York Times that the “Sopranos” actor died on May 7 in a Manhattan hospital, although the cause of death had not yet been confirmed. He was 65 at the time.

Who was Bruce MacVittie?
MacVittie was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 14, 1956, and received a BFA from Boston University in 1979. He has since appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions. In 1983, he made his Broadway debut with David Mamet’s play American Buffalo, after which he toured the country and played in London’s West End.

MacVittie was a founder member of the Naked Angels ensemble, which began in 1986, and has worked with actors such as Marisa Tomei, Gina Gershon, and Mary Stuart Masterson over the years.
The actor has appeared in a number of television shows, including “Blue Bloods,” “Chicago Med,” “Miami Vice,” and “Sex and the City.”
In addition, he made his Broadway debut alongside Al Pacino. In 1983, the two starred in David Mamet’s “American Buffalo.”

“I loved Bruce MacVittie,” Pacino revealed to The New York Times. “His performances were always glistening and crackling; a heart and a joy to watch. He was the embodiment of the struggling actor in New York City, and he made it work. We will miss him.”
MacVittie’s final role was as Detective Hartigan in the Netflix miniseries “When They See Us.”

MacVittie is also a member of the theatre ensemble Naked Angels. The organisation was founded in 1986.
His wife and daughter, Sophia Oliva Ochs MacVittie, survive him.
