Kevin Durant, two-time NBA Finals MVP, is reportedly being traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns. The franchises agreed on the deal, as per ESPN sources, days after the former decided to part ways with superstar Kyrie Irving. The 30-year-old made his debut for the Dallas Mavericks against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
The Nets made a package deal with the Suns, which includes Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first-round picks, sources told ESPN on Wednesday night for Durant. The 34-year-old and TJ Warren were taken to Phoenix just ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
At the Suns, Durant will be seen partnering with the likes of Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton, making the franchise favorites this season. Booker is back from a groin injury that kept him out since Christmas.

Will Kevin Durant play?
Mostly no. Firstly, Kevin Durant’s deal has to go through the league offices for the franchise to make it official. The announcement will only be made after the final paperwork of the trade. Neither the player or the team has confirmed the deal.
Even if the formalities go through before tip-off, KD is nursing a knee injury. He missed Brooklyn’s last 14 games and will likely not participate in the All-Star game on February 19. There is currently no timetable for his return.
