The Taldangra assembly constituency is
currently held by TMC MLA Samir Chakraborty, who defeated Amiya Patra of CPM in
2016. The seat, one of West Bengal’s 294 assembly constituencies, falls under Bankura
Lok Sabha constituency.

As per orders of the Delimitation
Commission, Bibarda, Fulmati, Harmasra, Khalgram, Panchmura and Taldangra gram
panchayats of Taldangra community development block,  Brojarajpur and Gaurbazar gram panchayats of
Indpur community development block; and Simlapal community
development block fall under Taldangra.
