Popular dating app Bumble has given its entire team (700 employees) a whole week off to thank them for their “hard work and resilience”. The dating app shut operations around the world for a week, starting June 21.

According to CNN, this initiative also extended to Badoo, an international dating app that is owned by Bumble. In an unavailable tweet, staff from the company said that the paid time off was a result of CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd’s understanding of “our collective burnout.

In recent times, a four-day workweek has gained popularity with giants Microsoft and Unilevert putting the concept to work. According to experts, CNN reported, these new measures are the need of the hour, keeping in mind the pandemic-induced fatigue that is taking a toll on employees.

Earlier in April, LinkedIn also gave its entire workforce of nearly 16,000 people a week off.

Bumble is known for its progressive values. It is a social media platform where women make the first move.

Wolfe Herd, the Bumble CEO, grabbed headlines globally when she listed her company on Wall Street and rang the bell while carrying her son. She was 31-years-old.
