It’s the most recent incident in a string of high-profile YouTube accounts being compromised. Scammers frequently access well-known accounts to rename them and broadcast cryptocurrency scam videos.

Sebastian was employed by the long-gone Canadian internet retailer of computers called NCIX. The business requested him to serve as the host of its technology channel, which was established to aid in product demonstrations. Sebastian was given the order to establish the Linus Tech Tips channel as a less expensive offshoot of the NCIX channel in order to allow for lower production values without affecting the NCIX brand due to high costs and low viewership during the early days of the channel. He characterized Newegg and TigerDirect as rivals. On November 24, 2008, Linus Tech Tips was established. He ultimately parted ways with NCIX after a disagreement over corporate management, negotiating a deal that allowed him to retain the channel in exchange for signing a non-compete clause.
The LTX expo was also sponsored by the Linus Media Group. The LTX Expo was established to be a convention for creators of technology-based content.
