50% of all American adults fully vaccinated against COVID-19: White House

- Biden has set a target of having 70% of adults vaccinated with at least one dose by July 4
Taking a huge step in the fight against coronavirus, the United States has fully vaccinated 50% of all its adults, the White House said Tuesday.
“Now 50% of all American adults are fully vaccinated,” tweeted Cyrus Shahpar, COVID-19 data director for the White House.

That means half the adult population has received either two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines, or one of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson.
Meanwhile, the milestone has also been reached by 25 states, as well as Washington DC.
Although more than half a million Americans have died from the coronavirus, the country is now a world leader in rolling out vaccinations.

The US has reached almost 50% of its total population of 332 million with at least one dose, but its vaccination campaign has been slowing in the face of hesitancy.
Overall, 287,788,872 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been reported administered, about 80% of the 359,004,955 total doses delivered, according to CNN inputs.
President Joe Biden has set a target of having 70% of adults vaccinated with at least one dose by July 4. The current figure is almost 62%.
